Windows Explorer, is accessible through the Start menu. This is the tool we use to look through the files and drives on our computer.
Windows Explorer automatically opens My Documents folder by default. However, My Documents shortcut already exists on our Start menu and in our Desktop. So this simple steps, will make Windows Explorer shortcut to a better use by changing it to display all top-level drives and folders on our system.
This change will give you a broad, overall view of all your folders and files.
To change:
1. Click Start, point to All Programs, point to Accessories, right-click Windows Explorer, and then click Properties.
2. The Target box currently shows %SystemRoot%\explorer.exe
3. At the end of the line, type the characters /n, /e, /select, C:\
4. The line should now read as:
Note: Make sure to insert blank spaces in the correct locations. Then, click OK.
Click Windows Explorer, it will display all of your folders and drives, not just your My Documents folder.
